The Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) has issued an Invitation to Comment, “Accounting Standards in Canada: Future Directions — Draft Strategic Plan (PDF) .” The draft plan proposes fundamental changes to Canadian GAAP that will significantly affect the way financial reporting is carried out in Canada.
The AcSB is inviting written comments on the proposed strategies, but is also arranging to obtain input in meetings with interested organizations and individuals. Any organization wishing to arrange a meeting with AcSB representatives should contact the Director of Accounting Standards, Peter Martin, at + 1 (416) 204-3276 or peter.martin@cica.ca.
The AcSB is arranging public roundtable meetings to permit interested individuals to obtain further information and provide feedback. To date, the following meetings have been scheduled:
